Google has remained rather quiet in terms of when the Nexus 7 tablet would begin shipping. In fact, the Google Play listing for the tablet is still showing nothing more than a “ships in 2-3 weeks” timeframe. Thankfully though, another source of a potential shipping date has appeared. The latest is coming by way of Staples who offer both a warning of limited availability and a potential shipping date. Or more accurately, an “arriving no earlier than” date. According to Staples, those who pre-order a Nexus 7 tablet by July 10 will see the tablet ship sometime between July 12 and July 17 with deliveries arriving no earlier than the 13th. Here is the message from Staples;
“Pre-order your Nexus 7 by July 10th, 2012 to reserve one of these limited quantity tablets. Product will ship between July 12th and July 17th. Expected delivery: 1 – 3 business days, arriving no earlier than July 13th 2011. Your credit card will be charged at shipment.”
That being said, while something that is more than nothing — we remain not entirely convinced that this is accurate. After all, as many will likely have noticed already, the message from Staples has a type (2011) and given that we wonder if there was a typo on any of the other numbers. Regardless though, the Nexus 7 arrival is getting closer.
