Earlier today at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, Microsoft revealed it plans to acquire Perceptive Pixel for an undisclosed amount. Perceptive Pixel is a company that specializes in researching and developing interactive multi-touch displays.
Perceptive Pixel founder Jeff Han demonstrated his company’s technology at MWPC on a 82-inch multi-touch display. He showed off how the technology can benefit enterprise markets when paired with the power of Windows 8. Han showed how easy it is to use the giant display in OneNote, a maps application and the standard Windows 8 homescreen.
We saw this technology in person during CES 2012. You’ve probably seen it during broadcasts on CNN during political coverage.
The acquisition won’t be complete until it goes through the proper regulatory committees.
