Vodafone UK has officially announced the upcoming availability of the Huawei Ascend P1 smartphone. The handset will be available beginning next month, though as of this time we have yet to learn anything more specific. In fact, according to details coming from the press release announcement;
“The Huawei Ascend P1, running the latest Android 4.0 ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’ operating system, will be available from Vodafone and various independent retailers.”
And while we still need that exact release date — we do have some pricing details. The Ascend P1 will be available for free for those who sign up on a £26 per month (or higher) tariff.
Otherwise, the handset will be available in black with a soft-touch matte finish on the backside. The Ascend P1 will feature a 4.3-inch (960 x 540) Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass, dual-core 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 Cortex A9 processor, HSDPA connectivity, a 1670 mAh battery, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera and an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with auto-focus and LED flash. Lastly, another perk of the Ascend P1 is the thickness, or in this case the thin-ness — the handset is just 7.69mm thick.
Once again, those interested in the Ascend P1 (and in the UK) should begin to look for the handset to come available next month.
