Samsung is really taking its sponsorship of the 2012 Olympics in London seriously. The latest gig that Samsung has entered into has them deploying Galaxy S III units at the Holiday Inn Stratford City where guests and tourists attending the Olympic games might check-in. Samsung and Holiday Inn will be providing a full suite of hotel services; remote control of room settings and special Samsung and Holiday Inn “Olympic Newsletter” containing latest updates  — all on the Samsung Galaxy S III.  To facilitate the use of the Galaxy S III for all those purposes, a Holiday Inn Android app was created and will enabled the hotel to provided services such as express check-in/out, hotel services such as room service, laundry services and hotel facility booking. Guests will also be able to use the Galaxy S III as an in-room phone extension. While inside Holiday Inn rooms, the Galaxy S III can be used as remote control for TVs, lighting, AC and other audio-visual and in-room functions. You can even use the phone as room key.

If you’re still not convinced that the Samsung Galaxy S III is not as smart as Samsung say it is, maybe this setup with Holiday Inn will convince you. Anyway, if you’re going to London for the Olympics, you might want to consider checking in at the Holiday Inn.
