Windows Mobile not finished despite 7 Series

The big news that came out of Mobile World Congress this year was Microsoft’s complete rebuild of their mobile platform. At last, Windows Mobile was going to be replaced with a modern looking smartphone OS. But don’t think that it is going away completely. It has now been confirmed that Windows Mobile 6.5 will now more »

Sprint bits: More Android, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile goodies coming in 2010

Just yesterday, Sprint executive David Owens took some time and did a live chat for Sprint customers and in that chat were some interesting tidbits. To begin, plenty of Android users have been wondering about the Hero. Well he confirmed that the HTC Hero, along with the yet-to-be released Samsung Moment would both be getting more »

HTC Tilt2 now available with AT&T for $299.99

It was a few weeks back that AT&T officially announced the Windows Mobile based HTC Tilt 2 and as of today that handset is now available for purchase. The Tilt 2, which is a Windows Mobile 6.5 handset will set you back $299.99, which comes after a $50 mail in rebate. In other words, expect more »

Finally, a sexy Windows Mobile phone: HTC Leo

The news seems to be in line with what we’ve heard before, but the timeline gets more »

We at Gadgetell talk a lot about third party applications for mobile phone operating systems and how they might make or break a platform. The news comes today that Microsoft Product Manager for France let slip that Windows Mobile Marketplace will launch with 600 applications. Microsoft is expected to launch this Marketplace this fall. We can’t trust this Windows Mobile leak

Several screen shots are making the rounds as of late, purporting to be a leak of what Microsoft will unveil to the world next month in Barcelona at the GSMA World Congress. The shots show a new home screen, browser improvements, and a new way for touch screens to navigate through Windows icons. Don’t believe it.

While Microsoft could learn a thing or two about keeping secrets from Apple, I don’t believe these screen shots are real. I hold that it is far more likely some punk with Photoshop is having its way with the blogging media. There are a few points that make this case for me.

Like Bigfoot, Windows Mobile 6.5 exists. Has same problems.

Gizmodo has Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer yelling “6.5! 6.5!.” We had Moto’s chief spill the beans not too long ago. And here I am talking about it again. What could a “point” upgrade be worth? Certainly not all this, right? Well, my time with the Samsung Epix on AT&T service has gone pretty well and I’ve more »
