Live video streaming on Blackberry’s through Qik
It was a feature that Blackberry users have been longing to have on their handsets. Finally the wait is over as video web streaming service Qik has just released the alpha version of its mobile video streaming client for Blackberry devices.
The new Qik mobile video streaming app will let you live stream your video from your mobile phone to Qik.com and major social networking sites including Facebook, MySpace as well your personal blogs. T-Mobile’s upcoming BlackBerry lineup revealed
It looks like nothing but good news for BlackBerry loving T-Mobile users as there are a few new options coming available shortly.
First up we will see an expansion of the current Pearl 8120 lineup. Not the most exciting of additions, but lets get them out of the way before we move on to the real goodies. The Pearl 8120′s features will remain the same, but it will also be available in Tahitian Green, Indigo and Light Blue in addition to the currently available Ruby, Gold and Titanium.
Now that the 8120′s are out of the way, we can also tell you that the Kickstart (or possibly the Pearl 8220) will be available sometime in late September or early October and although the pricing has yet to be officially confirmed, the rumored $49.99 is still holding.
Google Maps testing voice search on Blackberry
Google Maps is experimenting with speech recognition technology for its mobile users. The lucky guinea pigs are owners of the Blackberry Pearl 8110, 8120, and 8130 in the US. This is the same voice search technology that they use in their free directory service, GOOG-411.
This service proves to be very useful for many mobile users who lack the time or patience to type the long names of the places they want to go to. BlackBerry Pearl 8120 now available on Rogers
Rogers Communications, has recently announced the launch of the latest Blackberry to hit their network, the Pearl 8120. The phone will utilize Rogers’ UMA VOIP network. Rogers offers the handset for $149.99 CAN along with a three year agreement.
The Blackberry Pearl 8120 carries the full complement of the features of a Pearl 2 device, users can enjoy Wi-Fi, a SureType keyboard, a microSD card slot wisely placed on the phone’s left side, a bright, colorful and sharp display, a camera now capable of taking videos, and a video player which has no problem handling MPEG4, WMV and H.264 files.
