Addonics announces SATA multiplier
The Addonics 5-port Hardware Port Multiplier (“HPM”) is here to let you hook up lots of SATA devices to your computer. There are two versions. The HPM-XA System Version that fits inside your computer where a PCI slot would be where it gives you 5 internal ports – you hook up your SATA controller to the HPM-XA and you’ve got 5 ports ready. The other is the 5 Port HPM-XA Enclosure Version which fits into multi-bay enclosures (which Addonics also sells). This is a good way to reuse an older machines to create a giant server for all your videos, photos, and music. Each version of the HPM costs $99.
