Fox shows are safe on DirecTV

DirecTV continues to be successful in diffusing disagreements with network content providers before things got too out of hand. DirecTV customers were on the verge of losing a lot of Fox channels such as FX, Speed and the National Geographic Channel due to a pricing dispute with Fox. DirecTV felt Fox asking customers to pay 40 percent more a month for the same channels was unfair. Unless the two came to an agreement, several Fox channels would have been suspended starting November 1. Well you don’t have to worry about that now. DirecTV and Fox reached an agreement hours before the deadline to keep those channels flowing to DirecTV customers.

Nokia and Microsoft sign off on joint partnership

We’ve known about the partnership between Microsoft and Nokia for a while now, but there’s always some paperwork that needs to be done in deals this massive. Today Nokia and Microsoft revealed that the two companies have signed a “definitive agreement” in their partnership. This means that both sides have agreed to the terms of their agreement and are ready to move ahead.

Verizon believed to be ditching 1-year contracts

An internal document leaked to Gadget University states that Verizon will no longer offer 1-year contracts for most of its customers. This change is expected to go into effect on April 17, 2011. The rules governing 2-year and month-to-month contracts will remain unchanged.
