Android 4.0.3 is set to be the “base version of Ice Cream Sandwich”

The Galaxy Nexus was just released on Verizon as the first device in the United States to ship with Android 4.0. However at this point, Android 4.0 is getting somewhat dated. Google announced Android 4.0.3 on Friday as an “incremental” software update. The core look and features of Ice Cream Sandwich will remain, but Android 4.0.3 contains some bug fixes and more APIs for developers. Google considers this version of Android to be the one it wants developers to focus on. Google wants developers to make sure their apps are compatible with Android 4.0.3 since this version will be present on devices not yet released.
