Acer brings its candy-colored Aspire One netbooks to the US

Sometime in April, when everybody else are busy preparing their Android tablets, Acer broke its silence by announcing not its Acer Iconia Tablet but a new set of Aspire One netbooks. Some of you may have raised your eyebrows (including myself) thinking what came into the minds of the Acer folks to brag about an more »

Acer Aspire One 522 netbook images, specs, pricing revealed

Assuming this information is accurate, and we have no reason to believe it is not considering where it is coming from (macles) — Acer is going to be launching the Aspire One 522 netbook with a dual-core 1GHz AMD C-50 Ontario processor. Other specs look to include a 10.1 inch display with a 1280 x more »

Acer ends the year by announcing a new netbook

With only a few hours left of 2009, Acer has decided to drop the details on its newest Aspire One netbook. Not a huge surprise given the recent Pine Trail Atom updates, and as a whole the netbook isn’t entirely exciting. It does have a few new features for Acer, however. The new netbook is more »

Acer plans for a Q3 launch of Aspire One Android netbook

An Acer representative wanted to ensure Android enthusiasts that a netbook running Android will be launched sometime this year. After several delays and false reporting, Acer felt it was best to reassure the public that the 10 inch Aspire One will still be running Android.

Now, Acer already markets an Aspire One netbook running on Windows XP; in addition, the one they showed off at an electronics show in Taipei featured a dual-boot of Android and XP. It should be known that the Android running Aspire One will not feature a Windows XP and Google Android dual-boot.

Acer intros the 11.6-inch Aspire One netbook

Even as a supporter and regular user of netbooks, to me there has to be a size limit when it comes to the display. Previously, we thought that was 10-inches, however we have seen others such as Dell and Gateway sneak past with some larger models and now Acer has unveiled the Aspire One with more »

Acer officially launches the 10-inch Aspire One D150 in the US

Acer has officially launched the 10-inch Aspire One netbook in the US. Of course, this comes with little surprise considering we recently seen the FCC approval. It does come with some good news though. Aside from being officially available for order, as opposed to pre-order, this announcement also confirms the price at $349.99. As for more »

Get an Acer Aspire One for $239.99 with free shipping

Looking for a nice low price on a netbook and not wanting to hit up the used market? Well, the deals seem to be showing up, and the latest is an Acer Aspire One for just $239.99, and that comes along with free shipping.

The model that is being offered features an 8.9-inch display at 1024 x 600, 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM and a 16GB SSD. Additionally, it is Onyx Black in color and running Linpus Linux Lite.

10-inch Acer Aspire One D150 makes an FCC appearance

It was back in late November of last year when we first got word that the 10-inch Acer Aspire One was set for a Q1 2009 release, however we have still been waiting for it to appear in a real world image. Now without any further waiting, we have the FCC to thank for those first images.

Overall there does not seem to be much in way of difference as compared to the current 8.9-inch Aspire One netbooks, that is, aside from the addition of a Bluetooth module and the display, which is now 10-inches.

AT&T, Radio Shack offering $99 3G-equipped Acer Aspire One netbook

AT&T and Radio Shack have recently announced the availability of a 3G-equipped Acer Aspire One netbook for $99. Of course, that low price comes with a bit of a catch — in order to get that pricing you must be willing to sign up for an AT&T LaptopConnect account with a 2-year commitment. The Acer Aspire One that is available features an 8.9-inch display along with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive and is running Windows XP.

The Aspire One normally (without contract) retails for around $380. As far as the contract with AT&T, like I previously mentioned, that requires a 2-year agreement and there are plans beginning at $59.99 a month. If interested, be prepared to visit a Radio Shack location as this deal is available in-store only.

10-inch Acer Aspire One on track for Q1 2009 release

It looks like the Aspire One from Acer will be the next netbook to make the jump up to a 10-inch display model. According to some recent statements by Acer Taiwan president Scott Lin, the new 10-inch Aspire One will be available sometime in February or March 2009. Of course, just because he spilled the more »
