Get a Blu-ray player for under $300 from Sherwood America soon

A lower priced Blu-ray player is coming this November from Sherwood America for under $300. Expect the usual BD features like 1080p video, upscales DVDs, and supports BD Profile 1.1. With the holidays coming, expect more news like this.

I have never heard of this particular company, so I did some digging. Don’t expect any exotic styling here. Their other devices feature pretty conservative design. Where can you expect to find this player? We don’t know yet, but when we do, we’ll let you know. More after the break.

Pioneer also has a new Blu-ray player; the Elite BDP-09FD

After Panasonic and Sony, it’s now Pioneer’s turn to announced their new Elite BDP-09FD Blu-ray player. And like the other new Blu-ray players, Pioneer would not just let the competitors outwit them in features and functionality. As such, Pioneer’s new Blu-ray player boast of advanced features as well that include 16-bit video engine, I/P conversion, video scaling, video adjustments of HD and SD content and QDEO processor and Renesas Technology’s video decoder. The result of all these technology? – a full 1080p video viewing pleasure with smoother picture free of artificial noise.

Other features of the BDP-09FD Blu ray player include Pioneer’s Adaptive Bit Length Expansion technology which enables the player to represent the purest color of the movies, BD movie restoration, 8-bit color production, dual HDMI 1.3a outputs and BD-Live support.

Sony releases the eco-friendly BDP-S350 Blu-ray player

Although Sony has announced its next generation Blu-ray player, the BDP-S350 as early as February, it is only now that the player has started arriving in US retail stores. For those who have been waiting for the BDP-S350, the wait may well be worth it after all since like we reported before this player is fully compatible with various disc formats including BD-R/RE, DVD+R/+RW, DVD-R/-RW, CD, CD-R/RW and JPEG on DVD or CD recordable media.

Samsung is treating all you couch potatoes out there with their latest products that might make you burn your wallets — the HTS-AS720 Home Theater System and the BD-P1500 Blu-ray player. Samsung is really teasing us with these new products as you would certainly want to have not just one but both of them. Because how good is a home theater system if you don’t use a BD player with it, right?

So, first up we have the HTS-AS720 Home Theater System with its 5.1 channel receiver, subwoofer and six satellite speakers all boasting of 650 watts total power. Adding pleasure to the viewing experience is an amplifier that features Dolby True HD Support and DTS HD pass through.
