Surf the net via voice; company brings the world of internet to blind and low-vision

To many of us, the net is an awesome place full of possibilities. To others with blindness or low-vision, it is very quiet and dark. One company in particular is stepping up to change that.

Meet VTS or Voice Terminal Service. Instead of requiring special software like Zoomtext that magnifies and reads text, this service requires nothing but a phone line. By calling in, users can get e-mail, stock quotes, news, calendar info and more. According the services users, Google Calendar functions were the most requested. Now updating your calendar can be done almost effortlessly by using the same “quick-add” syntax as you would if you doing it on the computer.
