CES 2012: Technology Tell booth tour [Hey, that's us]

technology-tell-gadgetell-booth-001

Coming as a little bit of, hey look at us shameless self promotion — GadgeTell had a booth to call home here at CES. Or more specifically, a booth set up for the newly branded Technology Tell sites which surround AppleTell, GadgeTell, GamerTell, HomeTechTell, TeleRead, Demystifying Digital and Your Digital Life. The booth was sitting more »

CES 2012: Microsoft booth tour, the final booth tour

microsoft-booth-tour-034

As one has come to expect, Microsoft had a massive booth here at CES. Of course, while we have expected that based on previous years, that will be changing as of CES 2013. And by that we are referring to how Microsoft will no longer have a booth here. Anyway, that may still sound somewhat more »

CES 2010: The Speck booth

Another company that I spent some time with during CES was Speck, which I was able to check out during one of the pre-press only events as well as on the show floor. I will say that are one of my favorite companies in terms of cases for my iPhone and Zune HD so there more »

CES 2010: The Microsoft Zune booth

While CES is lots of running around, and lots of working, it is hard not to have fun while attending. One of the most exciting parts, at least for the geek in me is that I can check out all of these products that I may not have a chance to see otherwise. And one more »

Canon shows off tons of cameras

Shortly before CES, Canon unveiled almost a dozen new camcorders. They all were on display at CES and Gadgetell played with some of them.

Virtually all of the HD consumer camcorder line can now record in a 24Mbps mode called MXP. Why does this matter? The higher the bitrate, the higher the quality of video. If you’re a video podcaster or just like making movies, this stuff matters to you. The tape-based HV40 records in 25Mbps in HDV format.

Toshiba booth tour: Regza, Resolution +, Cell TV, Network TV, Wireless HD and more

Looking around the Toshiba booth today, there were a few things that are hard to deny — the booth was very large and the televisions were pretty spectacular looking. They were even showing off the new Resolution +, which offers a 4k x 2k super resolution. Yup, 4k x 2k, that translates to 3,820 x more »

iriver booth tour: Sleek and white with plenty of cool little toys

iriver is one of those companies that seem to pop-up from time to time with some cool gadgets. So, this tour of the booth should come as little surprise, but they had so many cool little toys to play with such as the Wave Home. Of course, there were some that were just plain silly more »

Dish Network booth tour: Check out all the white shirts

Running around the show floor today, I came across the Dish Network booth and something struck me a little funny. There are plenty of booths that have a few reps on hand and at times it can be difficult to find someone to help you, normally I would say that those booths are busy. Now, more »

Shuttle PC booth tour: A booth full of cube-style PC’s

I bring you a nice little tour of the Shuttle PC booth here at CES, and this was one that was totally unplanned. I had known that Shuttle existed, but never really thought much else about them until I stumbled into them — and I do mean that literally. Quick tip, when you are looking more »

MSI booth tour: notebooks, netbooks, plenty of nettops

After a brief tour around the MSI booth, there was one thing that struck me, there was certainly not any shortage of netbooks and nettops. Quite a few models of each, and some of these nettops look much nicer in person that you would have expected. After seeing them up close and personal, they suddenly more »
