Google Voice adds new options to display your number when sending SMS messages
I have not made any secret as to my love affair with Google Voice, and thankfully that is backed up by the fact they seem to be improving and adding to the service little by little. And the latest little tidbit that was updated within Google Voice is dealing with SMS messaging. Or more specifically, more »
Here we go again: DTV delayed?
Here we go again, indeed. The DTV transition was originally scheduled for February 17, but Democrat Senators wanted to pass a bill that would postpone it for 4 months because they thought 6.5 million people were not ready yet.
I can imagine that, if Americans are anything like me, they would probably wait until Valentine’s day and give a loved one a converter box if they needed one. Then, a few days ago the House Republicans blocked the bill, because they did not get the necessary 2/3 to pass it, even though the majority was for it, so it’s back to the drawing board. Last night, the Senate unanimously passed the same bill, hoping this time it will get through the House.
Gadgetell Interview: Talking about the future with Ariel Diaz of YouCastr, inc.
Have you ever wanted to have your own “radio” show online and talk about sports? A lot of people do, but it’s hard to reach a good audience especially if you are an amateur. Back in 2007, Ariel Diaz, along with a few of his college alumni decided to create YouCastr. YouCastr is a place where amateur, semi-professional, and professional users could talk about whatever sport related topics of their choosing.
Later in February 2008, YouCastr went into their first beta and raised some money to further their developments. I recently got the chance to catch up with Ariel Diaz, the CEO and Co-Founder of YouCastr, inc., and I asked him about the direction of YouCastr and the technology they use to make their goals come to fruition. Keep reading for the full interview.

At 6:58 PM on January 22, 2009, all the major broadcast networks (including the local CBS, NBC, ABC, and Fox affiliates) will drop their analog signal at the same time.

“30 Rock” to premiere on Hulu before it hits NBC
Broadcast television is taking a backseat to Hulu.com. “30 Rock” is premiering this Thursday on Hulu, a full week before NBC will air the episode. This is not the first time NBC has shown off its television shows online before the television broadcast. The short-lived “Andy Barker, P.I.” debuted on NBC.com several weeks before ever more »
YouTube won’t be going live any time soon
Despite previous statements declaring that their online service would be offering live video streaming some time this year, a source inside now states that YouTube won’t be going live after all. There goes the business plans of several planning to make a buck off the live streaming idea, like the somewhat cult-popular lifecast justin.tv. Some outsiders have thought this was the next expected step for YouTube, being that they make a killing in the market for pre-recorded Web video. Even Steve Chen, Co-Founder of YouTube, lent plausibility to the leap to live streaming when the idea first hit the public’s ear by telling Pop 17′s Sarah Meyer’s “Live video is something we always wanted to do but haven’t had the resources to do it correctly, but now with Google, we hope to launch something this year.” Well, that was in February, and it isn’t happening, and sources say it won’t be happening next year either.
