Talk about ideal product placement gone mad. In the upcoming James Bond Quantum of Solace movie, there are eight different characters sporting six different Ericsson phones. And nope, they don’t even have to tape over the brand name….I’m sure Sony paid plenty to be the featured phone of choice.

The six featured phones somehow also magically include the canceled Ericsson W707. The new character Elvis has that one. Bond himself sports the C902 (in the limited Titanium Silver color of course). The Bond girl uses the W350 in Graphic White color; for anyone wanting to be just like the love of Bond’s life remember Graphic White. As for the rest of the characters, we have M catching calls with the G700 (in Mineral Grey), Matthus using the G700, CIA with the W910, and another new character, Green, pockets the G900.

We’ve seen the Sony Ericsson K800i Cyber-shot phone in Casino Royale back in 2006. We’ve also seen both the P900 and the T68i featured in the Die Another Day sometime in 2002. Now in 2008, Sony Ericsson has once again sealed a deal with MGM, producer of the latest James Bond movie Quantum of Solace to have one of its latest mobile phone featured in the movie. This time, it will be Sony Ericsson’s recently announced C902 camera phone.

The limited edition C902 will also be available in titanium silver and will come with a memory card pre-loaded with James Bond 007 content such as the first level of an upcoming spy-style game, full trailer of the Quantum of Solace, behind-the-scenes interviews with the casts of the movie, and various extras such as James Bond inspired wallpapers and screensavers.

Sony Ericsson recently had not one, but two new handsets hit the FCC’s approval list. The lucky phones are the R300 Radio and the C902 Cyber-shot. Sony Ericsson has added two new models to it’s Cyber-shot lineup, the C902 and the C702. Starting with the higher-end model, the C902 has a slide-out lens cover making easy to snap those quick pictures, illuminated camera touch-keys, Photo Flash and a 5-megapixel camera with face detection and auto focus. The C702 features a 3.2-megapixel camera with digital zoom and face detection, built-in GPS with Google Maps for Mobile pre-installed. The C702 is designed for single hand use and is also both splash and dust-resistant.

The C902 and C702 both offer just 160MB of internal memory but have a Memory Stick Micro card slot for additional storage. The C902 will be available in Swift Black or Luscious Red while the C702 will be available in Speed Black or Cyan Blue.
