Sprint adds new landing pages for EVO View 4G, Nexus S 4G & Kyocera Echo

Sprint launched their new advertising campaign yesterday, “All. Together. Now.” and it seems that has come with some added attention for their handsets. If you visit the page you will be given extended previews for a handful of devices including the recently announced Kyocera Echo as well as the still-waiting-to-be-released HTC EVO View 4G and more »

Sprint reveals “All. Together. Now” ad campaign, embraces social media

Sprint is putting some of its resources into reminding everyone that it offers truly unlimited plans. Some carriers such as T-Mobile offers plans with unlimited data, but throttle speeds after data usage exceeds 2GB. Now that’s not really unlimited is it? Sprint’s newest All. Together.Now. advertising campaign reiterates on Sprint’s unlimited plans, but also reminds customers it’s hip to the things people love to do on their phones.

Obama includes 2.9 million in his fave five

As our Doug Berger posted on earlier this month, presidential candidate Barack Obama offered to send you a text message with his VP choice. You’d be among the first to know, as Obama was leaking this info to you first, instead of the talking heads over at CNN and the like.

So how many gave away their phone number? It is estimated 2.9 million parted ways with that morsel of data. Shocked? Astounded? Me too. And not just with Obama’s choice of running mates.

Nielsen Mobile makes this estimate and calls it the biggest mobile marketing campaign ever. So far.

Since younger voters tend to skew toward the ranks of the non-voters, bringing this group to the table could prove huge come this December. Brian McConnell over at Gigom wrote up a thoughtful post on the far reaching effects of thinking outside the networks:

Microsoft has Seinfield help battle Apple in new ads

Long annoyed with Apple’s barbs and those “Get a Mac” ads, Microsoft has called in the help of comedian Jerry Seinfield for their latest ad campaign. Along with retired Bill Gates, Seinfield will be helping to promote their new “Windows not walls” tagline.

Their newest ad campaign is running them $300 million, which makes it one of their biggest ever; and $10 million of that is going straight to “key celebrity pitchman” Jerry Seinfield for his assistance. Not a shabby paycheck there Jerry, especially since you usually displayed Macs in your apartment on your show.

Google wants to use the white space

Google seems to be advocating a lot of things recently, with the latest being their “Free The Airwaves” campaign. Free The Airwaves is about asking the FCC to free allow anyone to use unused airwaves that currently carry analog TV signals. About 3/4 of these waves are currently unused, and Google wants to leverage these waves for the good of everyone. Its idea is to use it for cheap and easy wireless internet access, of course.

FCC engineers will be testing the airwaves that could carry Wi-Fi, with the ban on using the “white space” airwaves possibly coming by the end of the year. This would be great news for just about everyone. There are still places in the United States that don’t have access to broadband (shocking to realize sometimes, I know), and these waves should already be there anyway. It should just be a matter of buying a device that can connect to the airwaves.

Microsoft’s response to the “Save Windows XP” campaign

Just recently we told you about the ongoing campaign to help “save Windows XP” from its certain death. As it stands now Microsoft will stop issuing new licenses for XP as of June 30, 2008 and based on their latest response it seems that date will hold true. A Microsoft spokesperson recently stated that they more »
