CES 2012: Coby has nine Ice Cream Sandwich tablets

Back in December, Coby announced it will be releasing five Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich tablets in 2012. By the time I was done walking around Coby’s floor space at CES 2012, I came away with information on nine tablets.

It has already been proven that an Android 4.0 tablet does not need to be expensive. Since the software is open source, manufacturers can load it up onto their devices and flood the market to their heart’s content. Starting early next year, Coby will enter the Ice Cream Sandwich arena with five new tablets. Coby isn’t necessarily known for stellar hardware, but maybe Android 4.0 has the software optimizations necessary to make these Coby tablets a viable option.
