Senate votes to delay digital TV transition
The U.S. Senate has voted to delay the upcoming digital TV transition by 4 months to June 12. Congress is expected to pass the proposal today amid loud protests from broadcasters and Republican lawmakers. The Obama administration has been pushing for a delay ever since the government program set up to distribute coupons for the converter boxes consumers who rely on analog signals will need to continue receiving broadcasts ran out of money.
