Canon’s PowerShot SX10 IS digital camera zooms in like a DSLR
If the Canon PowerShot G10 digital camera is too expensive for you, then you might want to consider getting the PowerShot SX10 IS instead. Retailing for $100 less than the G10 (at $399), the PowerShot SX10 IS is also packed with powerful features highlighted by its zooming power which is almost like the zooming power of most entry-level DSLR cameras.

Canon adds the new Powershot G10 to its high-end G-series camera line

Canon targets the youth market with the new PowerShot E1 digital camera
Canon has introduced its newest digital camera line called the PowerShot E-Series. For starters, the PowerShot E-Series is getting the trendy PowerShot E1 digital camera. To be released in 3 eye-catching colors – white, blue or pink, the PowerShot E1 is geared for the teen and tween users and features an eye-candy stylish design highlighted by its rounded and curvy form factor.
But aside from its stylish form factor, the PowerShot E1 also boasts of decent camera features such as, a 10-megapixel sensor, 4x optical zoom, a 4-inch LCD, optical image stabilization, face detection and 17 shooting modes including Easy Mode and Scene Mode. The Olympus SP-565UZ is an upgraded SP-570UZ with 20x optical zoom

Olympus unveils the ruggedized Stylus 1050SW digital camera

The new Olympus Stylus 1050SW is a rugged 10.1-megapixel digital camera that is shockproof, waterproof and freeze proof. Related to its rugged features, the 1050SW also features Tap Control which according to Olympus makes the top, back or sides of the camera sensitive to touch which in turn makes up for easy control of the camera’s menu settings. Olympus rolls out the budget-friendly FE-360, FE-370 entry-level digital cameras
As if we haven’t had enough of entry-level digital cameras in the market today, Olympus is adding two more new models in its FE-series of digital cameras with the FE-360 and FE-370. Fortunately for us, the standards for entry-level cameras continue to improve hence we are assured of getting more goodies from these types of digital cameras. This is true for the FE-260 and FE-270 which both feature a decently high 8-megapixel CCD sensor.
In terms of individual features and specs, both cameras are almost similar with a minor difference in optical zoom range, with the FE-260 having 3x optical zoom and the FE-370 having a higher 5x optical zoom capability. Aside from these, the FE-360′s optical zoom is complemented by 20 custom shooting modes while the FE-370′s optical zoom is well complemented by its large 2.7-inch high-resolution LCD.

Samsung unloads the TL34HD, TL9, SL310W, SL201 point-and-shoot cameras
Samsung has launched for new digital camera models which are scheduled to arrive in the second half of 2008. They are the models TL34HD, TL9, SL310W and SL201. Here’s a quick rundown of what each of these cameras are offering us digital photography fanatics.
The TL34HD boasts of a 14.7-megapixel resolution and a 28mm wide-angle Schneider lens with 3.6x optical zoom. Succeeding the NV24HD, the TL34HD point-and-shoot can also capture high-definition video at 720p resolution and comes with dual image stabilization feature. Packed in a metal casing, this packet size camera comes in black or silver with a red accent designs. It also features a 3-inch touchscreen HVGA LCD with Smart Touch 2.0 user interface.
Casio EX-Z150; world’s slimmest digital camera with wide-angle zoom lens
Casio has added a new ultra-thin point-and-shoot in their Exilim lineup, the EX-Z150.
