Oddball Tech: P.U.M.A., Google van meets a bridge, and UK Street View driver hates photograper

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the show that never ends. Segway and GM team up to create a new type of vehicle. Trouble with Google Street View on two fronts. First off, Google ignores basic physics and meets a bridge. Second, the driver of a Google Street View car (you know, the one that takes all the pictures for Street View) gets mad because someone takes a picture of him. He screamed “You are stealing my soul!” Okay, he didn’t say that, but he wasn’t happy.

Sprint continues to fight the iPhone

We have already seen the first video, where Sprint shows us a little competition between the GPS functionality of the Instinct as compared to the iPhone and with little surprise the Instinct came out victorious. Well in a continuance, Sprint has released an additional four videos showing off just how feature packed the Instinct is.

Up this time they take on “Fast Internet,” “Live TV,” “Shoot video” and “Music Download.” Also as you would expect the Instinct continues to come out on top. While the videos seem obvious, especially to most of us who have the specs memorized in our heads, it also does not seem to be cutting an edge in the competition. It was previously uncovered that Sprint dropped $100 million on this campaign and personally I would be not any more willing to grab an Instinct for myself after seeing these features shown off, not really sure that means money well spent.

At the risk of sounding a little like an Apple fanboy, I will continue to use and enjoy my current iPhone with the hopes that some of these features, such as true GPS, video capture and faster Internet (3G) will come in a new version of the iPhone. We have to remember that the current iPhone, and the focus of their competition is a phone that is now almost a year old, which in gadget and technology life is getting old. Continue reading to check out the videos yourself, if nothing else they are quite enjoyable to watch.
