Fujifilm’s newest FinePix cam, the F200EXR

If Nikon didn’t get you to choose one of the eight new cameras it announced recently, you might find Fujifilm’s FinexPix F200EXR more interesting. This new digital camera is equipped with what Fujifilm calls Super CCD EXR technology, a new sensor that enables the camera to capture high quality photos. But of course, that is not all there is to this new digital snapper. The camera comes loaded with features just like other F-series camera models, and perhaps even comes with more features.

Fujifilm’s 3D camera is just the tip of the iceberg

Photographers have been messing around with 3D photography for years. It just hasn’t been a nice and easy, already developed for them, consumer-friendly, point and shoot 3D camera they were using to take the photos. Some photographers were rigging up their own cameras to get the effect, some doing it in post-processing. Some, used much less user-friendly four lens cameras that did exist out there, just not with the best picture quality.

Fujifilm is hoping to remedy all of that with their development of their 3D camera. The way it accomplishes the 3D effect is to use two lenses and two sensors. The lenses are about 6 to 7-cm apart, which is the width between the average person’s eyes. These lenses and sensors take different pictures from different angles simultaneously. Then, it combines the different pictures to create one image that is displayed on the camera’s 2.8-inch, 230,000 pixel LCD screen.

Fujifilm’s other new camera is the not so exciting Finepix A850

If the recently announced Fujifilm Finepix Z200fd made you excited because of its ultra-slim, compact metal body and high 5x optical zoom, the other Finepix model, the A850 may not even make you pause for a second look. Even its official press release put down the A850′s output quality with the lines, “offering high-end technology to every-day users who want point-and-shot simplicity at an affordable price point, but are not prepared to compromise on image quality.”

I mean who would get excited with that statement? But at least the Fujifilm people are honest enough to admit that users may not find the A850 capable of producing high-quality images. So better not expect anything spectacular about the A850.

It has 100-1600 high ISO sensitivity, a 2.7-inch high resolution screen, face zoom and micro thumbnail playback features, VGA movie capture at 30fps frames per second with sound, PictBridge compatibility, blog mode and auction mode.
