DataTraveler 100 4GB Flash Drive on sale at Newegg for $7.99

If Santa is looking for stocking stuffers, or if you are just looking for some portable storage at a good price, you may want to check out one of Newegg’s latest “Special Buys.”

Right now, they are offering the Kingston DataTravelor 100 4GB flash drive for just $7.99 complete with free shipping.

I’ve compare shopped the item at some other sites. Overstock is actually asking $21.99 for the same item. (Which is just ridiculous, even Newegg doesn’t list that as the regular price). . . .

8 GB of music in packaging the size of a matchbox. Go SanDisk.

And with SanDisk, the hits just keep on coming. They have the 1GB, the 2GB, the 4GB Sansa Clips, and now the 8GB flash-based player. It may be teeny-tiny in size, but it certainly isn’t in the capacity of songs this baby can hold. Try up to 4,000 on it’s rechargeable battery which will run for 15 hours. Not bad, eh?

The player obviously gets its name from the clip it sports on the back. It lets users attach it to their clothing, backbacks, etc., which is great for when you are on the go. However, if you want to detach the clip, you have that option as well. Another nice thing about the Sansa Clip is that is has an OLED color screen, which lets you pick which songs you want to listen to; you don’t have to listen at random. More after the break.

Memeo: Share photos with your grandma

Updated: 9/25/2008. Memeo has announced the launch of Memeo Share 1.0, MemeoPhoto and a public preview of Memeo Share for the Mac. The services allow families and friends to share photos and video directly via PC, Mac, or the iPhone. It works by allowing users to set up “Sharing Circles” with the people they want to share with. Once completed Memeo Share runs in the background, automatically sending and receiving media and posting them to a private web gallery. This eliminates the hassles that come with emailing large image and video files.

The media is shared buy simply dragging and dropping from the desktop to the desired Sharing Circle. The photos and videos can be rated and commented on, and the application provides notification of all sharing activities. Members can choose what types of media they want to share or receive through filters based on media type, size, or rating. Memeo Share remembers users preferences once they are set.

Ecobutton saves the environment, money

You know those Staples ads that say “now we have an ‘Easy’ button”. Man, I wish I had an easy button that worked, but there is an easier way to become more eco-friendly with the Ecobutton. This is an ecologically friendly USB add-on that you put on the computer, and will help you reduce energy.

All a user needs to do is plug it in, and it goes into operation if you are away from your desk for too long. I think we all know that we waste so much energy when our computer is idling, and the company says it “adds up over the years creating a hefty carbon footprint that could only be rivaled by Bigfoot-if he used a PC”.
