Hasselblad unveils the H4D-40, a 40MP medium format DSLR beast
Hasselblad introduced the new H4D-40 “entry-level” camera to its existing line of H4D medium format camera systems. Touting a 33 x 44mm CCD sensor, which is almost twice the size of a full-frame 35mm DSLR sensor, the H4D-40 shoots at a whooping 40MP. Leaf AFi 10 is a 56-megapixel wonder
Some of you may remember when we covered the Hasselblad H3DII-50 camera, and I believed that I referred to Hasselblad’s products as “the gourmet of cameras”.
For those who long for more gourmet cameras, there is some new cuisine to sample as Leaf has introduced the AFi 10 camera system. The AFi 10 has a whopping 56-megapixels, which is six more than the aforementioned Hasselblad model.
The features of this camera include a 56×36 true wide frame sensor with great resolution across the entire width of the 6×6 sensor area. It also features a technology known as Verto that allows the sensor to rotate internally, so now there is no need to turn the camera when taking a portrait shot.
Hasselblad unveil their 50-megapixel H3DII-50 camera
For those of you who aren’t into the camera scene (which includes myself) the Hasselblad company has been making the best cameras for many proud generations. In fact, these guys have been making cameras since photography was invented. If Hasselblad cameras are gourmet food, then all other cameras are like McDonalds.
The company’s newest flagship camera is the H3DII-50. It is so named because it has 50, count ‘em, 50 megapixels. It also features Kodak’s 36 x 48mm sensor which is about twice the size of the largest 35mm sensors.
