Streaming Netflix from your Blu-ray player has just been made less expensive

It seems that Netflix is determined to be everywhere, we have seen dedicated players such as the Roku set top box, we have seen it integrated into television sets and even Blu-ray players. That said, the Blu-ray players, despite being a nice option have not yet offered the most cost effective route. That is, until more »

The future of technology and MP3 players

I want you to think about your parents or grandparents for a minute, and think about all the times they ask you for help with today’s current technology. I bet more times than not, they turn to you nearly several times a week for simple questions about their phones, computers, GPS, Internet, MP3 players, etc. If you think about it, technology discriminates against older people, as it benefits the young people as they are able to pick up new technology easily. Of course, there are classes such as computer classes that help teach the computer to older people, but those don’t always work. My question is, why not make a simple computer for anyone, especially older people, to understand?

Recently, Sony showed off a new type of MP3 player that specifically targeted the older generations, so they don’t have to always call when the pause button is pressed by accident and they can’t figure out what to do.

News Bits: Amazon in Germany and a Best Buy recall

Like David Hasselhoff, Amazon’s MP3 store will become huge in Germany according to a new survey. The survey asked which company would broadband users want to download music from. Choices included Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft. Those surveyed were all about Amazon. Also, if you bought an Insigna television, you may be affected by a recall. Faulty power supplies could lead to fires.

Best Buy preps new Insignia branded GPSs

In a few weeks, Best Buy will formally introduce two of their own GPSs with their Insignia brand on them. One of the GPSs will be the 4.3-inch NS-CNV20 and the other will be the 3.5-inch NS-CNV10.

These devices both feature integrated cellular connectivity. This is the kind of feature that will make these GPSs stand out. There is only one other GPS manufacturer that currently has cellular connectivity built-in to their devices and that is the Dash. With this connectivity, both of these GPSs will be able to perform local Google searches, access Google Maps, real time traffic updates, and you can even find maps on your home computer and then forward them to your Insignia personal navigation device.

Find out more about Best Buy’s new GPSs after the break.

Gadgetell Review: Insignia Pilot MP3 Player

Insignia recently came out with a new type of MP3 player called the Pilot MP3 Player. It comes in two versions, a 4GB and 8GB model. One of the main features of the Pilot MP3 player is the integrated Bluetooth. Upon receiving the Pilot MP3 player, one of the first things I wanted to do with it was try out the Bluetooth. However, before I can get to the Bluetooth, let me explain about how the rest of the features and installation went. Other features of the Pilot MP3 are audio and video playback, FM Radio, photo viewer, and the memory can be expanded via SD cards. It can also work with Macs, although I installed and used it on a Windows XP computer.

Gadgetell Review: Insignia NS-HD2114

New to Insignia’s rapidly expanding line of shelf systems is their NS-HD2114. The compact player/speaker system can play your CDs, DVDs, favorite (HD) Radio stations, and even has support for your iPod. While the NS-HD2114 may not replace your current home theater setup, for $128, it acts as a great device to put up in your bedroom or kitchen.

Input/Output

Before I delve into the features of the NS-HD2114, I’d like to put up a list of the input and outputs found on the device.
