Pentax drops prices on cameras

Many companies are now taking steps to ensure that their business stays alive during this recession and to encourage consumers to start spending money on their products. PENTAX has announced that starting this week, they will be making price adjustments in order to increase sales of their digital camera line.

Until February 22, all PENTAX K20D digital SLRs and K20D body and lens configurations will have an in-store instant $100.00 rebate applied at check out. Also, if you purchase one of the cameras before March 31, you can access a free three year warranty. You can also buy a battery grip for less than $20 with the purchase of the camera. They normally retail for $129.

Other PENTAX digital camera products will get a price reduction as well this month. Keep reading to find out which ones.

Pentax’s white K2000 available for pre-order

The Pentax K2000 is now available for pre-order directly from Pentax’s website. The all white DSLR comes with an 18-55mm and a 50-200mm lens (although it’s compatible with every Pentax lens ever created), all for around $679.95 with the body. The camera won’t actually ship until February.

The K2000 takes 10.2 megapixel pictures, has shake reduction, ISO from 100-3200, a 2.7-inch LCD with 170-degree viewing, and has an “Advanced Auto Picture” mode which automatically selects the most appropriate shooting mode for a particular situation.

Pentax offers up the K2000 entry level DSLR

Just in time for the Photokina event happening tomorrow in Germany, Pentax has announced its new entry-level DSLR camera – the K2000 otherwise known as the K-m for the European market. Targeting digital camera users who are about to take the leap into Digital SLRs, the Pentax K2000 comes in the form of an ultra-compact DSLR. So as not to annoy first time DSLR users and to make their transition as pleasant as possible, Pentax has put in Auto Picture modes that include Portrait, Landscape, Macro, Action and Night Portrait.
