There’s no Swype for Android 4.0 just yet

Swype has had a successful run on Android so far, but the latest major Android release isn’t playing nice with the keyboard software. That’s why all you Galaxy Nexus owners out there are going to have to go without Swype for the time being.

One of the best things about Android 4.0 going open source is the willingness of Android-saavy tinkerers to release bits of the update before Google or carriers get around to it. A member of the XDA forums going by the handle for.digit has done just that. They’ve managed to extract the Ice Cream Sandwich keyboard, and release it for devices running Android 2.2 and above.
