Remember ET? He phoned home using a contraption built around a crappy Speak-n-Spell. If you’ve bought a telephone for your landline recently, your choices haven’t changed much since ET was in theaters. Once “the” hub where you hung out in the kitchen for hours talking and untwisting the phone cord in the 70s, now sits there dejected like a pair of sneakers you save only for mowing the lawn. Why has tech passed over the lowly house phone?
