Panasonic tries to redefine digital cameras with the Lumix DMC-G1
In what could be a revolutionary move into the digital camera market, Panasonic just introduced what is said to be the world’s first Micro Four Thirds system camera – the Lumix DMC-G1. The Micro Four Thirds System is a new standard in digital camera lens whereby the internal mirror structure of digital single-lens reflex camera or DSLR were eliminated. In other words this system enables our digital camera to have interchangeable lens much like our DSLRs without needing to attach any lens adapter. Hence, the Lumix DMC-G1 is still a digital camera in form factor with the capability of a DSLR in terms of shooting range minus the bulky form factor.
