Calling all hypochondriacs: It’s the Zicam Cold & Flu Companion
Designers of mobile applications will attempt to appeal to all types of people. Apparently, this will now include hypochondriacs. Introducing the Zicam Cold & Flu Companion mobile application, a program that tells you how many people are sick in your area.
After downloading the application onto your phone, you simply put in any zip code in the United States. A screen will then appear and let you know the sick level for your town (low, moderate, high). It will also tell you what symptoms are common and which symptoms you should be aware of.

Verizon offers up RemoSync direct email push to non-smartphone users
Verizon Wireless has pushed the RemoSync application to its customers who use any of Verizon’s Get It Now-capable phones. This means that these users can now access their corporate e-mail even if they don’t have high-end a smartphone (e.g. Blackberry). For customers who are employed in businesses running the Microsoft Exchange Servers to handle their corporate email system, they can now enjoy almost the same service that Blackberry users enjoy, on their not-so-expensive mobile phones. Even sweeter is the fact that the service only costs $10 for a month’s access.
Aside from providing access to corporate email accounts, this push email technology also allow customers to download their Outlook contacts to their mobile phones or the other way around. Additionally, RemoSync also allows users to view their calendar events and even add or delete calendar entries from their mobile phones.
MO-Call expands low-cost calling service to Blackberry, other mobile platforms
Morodo’s low-cost calling service, MO-call has expanded its services to RIM’s Blackberry phones including the Curve, Pearl and its other 8800 model series. Previously available only for the iPhone the service is also working now with around 850 different mobile phones comprising 30 different mobile phone brands.
