HTC closing its Listen music store at the end of October
Owners of the HTC Sensation 4G on T-Mobile are going to find themselves with one less application at the end of October. HTC announced it will be closing its Listen music store on October 31. Everything about the store will cease to exist including any songs you may have purchased. HTC recommends downloading any music purchased from the Listen app because they will all be inaccessible once the store shuts down.
Walmart will shut down its MP3 store in late August
Walmart’s MP3 store is in its final days. On August 28, 2011, the Walmart Music Downloads Store will be closed. Come August 29, all content from the store will be disabled. Customer support will still be around for anyone who purchased music from Walmart’s MP3 store prior to its closure.

Amazon puts the Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 up for pre-order
The wait is almost over for the United States release of the Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0. In case you haven’t heard of it before, the Galaxy Player 4.0 is not another Android smartphone. It does run on Android 2.2, but it’s essentially a Wi-Fi device for media consumption like the iPod Touch. For as long as Android has been around, it’s hard to imagine why no other company has released a device quite like this before. Amazon pushes its Cloud Drive service with Lady Gaga’s new album
Amazon really, really wants you to use its cloud services. Amazon is willing to give up 20GB of Amazon Cloud Drive space for an entire year if you purchase Lady Gaga’s new “Born This Way” album. Amazon has been running a similar 5GB promotion since the Cloud Drive was launched. Amazon Cloud Player works on iOS devices
Amazon managed to beat Apple and Google to the punch when it released its Cloud Drive and Cloud Player for Android and the web. Consumers currently using Amazon Cloud Player for Android will have to make up their minds on whether they would prefer to utilize that, or whatever cloud service Google is undoubtedly working on. You wouldn’t think Amazon Cloud Player would actually work on an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, but it really does.
