ooma Telo just around the corner, to launch October 2009
October is coming and so is the ooma Telo. We first heard about the ooma Telo back in January at a small event called CES 2009 and it will finally be released on October 1, 2009. Last time we saw the Telo it was behind glass, but this time we got to handle the device personally. Unfamiliar with the Telo? Here’s how this works: attach a phone handset to the Telo and you can make free phone calls forever.
The ooma Telo makes an appearance
Ooma recently introduced its Ooma Telo, the replacement for the Ooma Hub and Scout.
The Telo was at CES, but Ooma kept the actual handset behind glass. Seeing it in person, the Telo looks like a pretty stylish phone. When released, It will be sold in various bundles from $199 to $299. The Telo supports up to six handsets. The previous Ooma model used regular phones attached to Ooma’s system.
Big savings on phone charges from ooma’s new Telo device
During these lean times, consumers are looking for ways to save money and this could mean cutting back on their monthly phone bill. At the Consumer Electronics Show this year, ooma has unveiled the Telo, a new step towards more affordable phone service.
The appeal of ooma’s Telo service is that you can make calls to anywhere in the United States for free as well as reduce the amount that you spend on international calls. The way that it works is that you pay the one time fee for the device, hook it up to your home phone line or high speed Internet connection and start making calls without receiving a monthly bill.
