The Optimus Maximus is one of those gadgets that is so neat, that it can’t help but be all over gadget blogs. Gadgetell has covered it quite a few times, most recently in April, when it finally appeared for sale on ThinkGeek. I think we can all see why its such a hot topic, because not every keyboard has a fully animated display on each individual key.

Like High Definition TV, GPS systems, and MySpace profiles, the Optimus Maximus keyboard is a fine example of something that we don’t really need, but we’re digging it anyway just because it’s possible, plus it makes our lives just a little bit fancier.
