Treo Pro gets removed from the Palm website
With the Palm Pre, and later the Pixi taking center stage with webOS, its no surprise that older Palm models including the Treo Pro have been taking a back seat. But still there is something to be said about seeing one of those models lose its dedicated page on the Palm website. The latest model more »
Gadgetell Review: Palm Treo Pro from Sprint
Now available from Sprint is Palm’s latest keyboard style Blackberry wannabe complete with small screen and a full key thumbpad. Sprint offers this phone on a 2 year contract basis for $199.99 including $250 instant savings and a $100 mail-in rebate. This is the Pro not the Pre. If you’re looking for a full touchscreen ala iPhone or Storm, you’ve got the wrong phone. Who is this for? Cellphone users who are email-centric and have tiny fingers or long fingernails. Keep reading for the full review.
Palm Treo Pro officially available with Sprint
Despite the numerous false starts and delays, the Palm Treo Pro is now available for purchase. Of course, I am not sure if this will mean good news or bad news for Palm, considering the Palm Treo Pro, or Palm Pro is not the hot fancy handset that everyone has been waiting for, and the more »
Treo Pro coming Thursday?
Go figure. Alltel (who has no relation to Gadgetell whatsoever, though if we were to buy a teleco, the name is so close, it would make loads of sense) looks to be the go-getter bringing the once-exciting-but-not-so-much-now Treo Pro to market first in the US. According to a rumor over at BGR, the phone will launch at $199 in the US.
I’ve man-handled the Pro and found it to be nice. But just nice, not amazing or mind blowing like some other sibling phone. It is just OK. Which is most likely why Sprint is launching it on the Alltel brand so as not to steal thunder or create confusion when it drops the Palm Pre slated for the first half of this year. It is a move that makes some sense.
The phone features 3G speeds, WiFi (a big step for Palm) and GPS. It is a decent phone that we’ve all but forgotten about as I fear have many consumers. The phone was unveiled back in August unlocked at $549. I’ve yet to see anyone in the field with this phone.
Don’t want a Pre? How about a Palm Pro instead?
Despite the numerous delays surrounding the Palm PRO, it has once again surfaced with what appears to be an actual availability time frame. According to a March circular for Best Buy Mobile it looks like those waiting will be able to make a purchase beginning as early as February 22.
Keep in mind, the Palm PRO is heading to Sprint, so be prepared to sign a two-year agreement. As far as the pricing, new customers can grab the PRO for $249.99 and current customers that are eligible for an upgrade will have to shell out $269.99.
Rumor Confirmed: Palm Treo Pro heading to Sprint in January
Thanks to a leaked lineup sheet, we are getting some confirmation that the earlier rumor about the Palm Treo Pro coming to Sprint is indeed accurate.
We have yet to see the official announcement so the details are limited, however we know the availability date will be January 25 and that it will be replacing the Palm Treo 800w. Still unknown is any pricing information, we do know that the Treo Pro sells unlocked for $549, but we can expect a subsidy to bring that down a bit. Hopefully we will see something in the mid $2xx price range.
AT&T adds Palm Treo Pro to “Specialty Vertical Device program”
Unlocked and unbranded phones always come with a little worry, generally you will experience an issue or two, and when you are paying over $500, or more specifically $549 in the case of the Palm Treo Pro there is a decent amount of reason for caution. The good news here is that for AT&T customers more »
Rumor: Palm Treo Pro coming to Sprint this January
What would we do without rumors and speculation? We geeks would have nothing to look forward to. The latest rumor is surrounding the Palm Treo Pro and is calling for a CDMA version to be landing with Sprint as early as January. The rumored launch date is calling for January 11 to be exact, but more »
Best Buy to carry the T-Mobile G1, Pearl Flip 8220, Palm Treo Pro
As much as this pains me to say, it appears as if Best Buy is becoming the place to go for popular handsets. It was not that long ago that they added the iPhone 3G and HTC Touch Diamond.
Now, it looks like customers will soon be able to grab a few more smartphones and it seems that October 26 is the day to look forward to. On that day Best Buy will make the unlocked Palm Treo Pro available. Of course, that is perhaps the least exciting of the bunch as the Pearl Flip 8220 and HTC G1 will also be made available that same day.
Is Rogers planning to introduce the Palm Pro on September 17?
Rogers may not always have the best pricing when it comes to their handsets or data plans, but its hard to argue the fact that they are building an awesome collection of available phones. Consider just recently we have seen both the iPhone 3G and BlackBerry Bold become available, and the latest rumor has them more »
