Panasonic adds to its Lumix digital camera series

Digital camera enthusiasts who are fans of the Lumix series will be glad to know that Panasonic has just launched three new camera models – the DMC-LS85, DMC-FS7, and DMC-FS15. These new Panasonic cameras are packed with nifty features that would surely please photo enthusiasts especially those who are just getting into the digital camera hobby. And take note, all three cameras come with affordable prices at the sub-$200 level.

Canon’s PowerShot SX10 IS digital camera zooms in like a DSLR

If the Canon PowerShot G10 digital camera is too expensive for you, then you might want to consider getting the PowerShot SX10 IS instead. Retailing for $100 less than the G10 (at $399), the PowerShot SX10 IS is also packed with powerful features highlighted by its zooming power which is almost like the zooming power of most entry-level DSLR cameras.

With its wide-angle (28mm – 560 mm) lens with 20x optical zoom, the PowerShot SX10 IS is certainly a keeper for advanced photo enthusiasts. It will enable users to take long-range shots without sacrificing image quality. In fact, they can capture facial expression clearly even if they are too far away from their subjects. Canon adds the new Powershot G10 to its high-end G-series camera line

Canon’s Powershot G9 digital camera is one of Canon’s best point-and-shoot models. It’s the next best thing to the entry-level DSLR, the Canon EOS 400D, but it has been a long time since the Powershot G9 came out. Now is just about the right time that Canon come up with a new model – the Powershot G10. For this new model of the G-series digital camera line, Canon is featuring a three-tier functionality, namely DIGIC 4 image processor, 28mm Optical Image Stabilized lens and RAW mode.

Aside from these three major features, advanced photo enthusiasts will also be glad to know that the 14.7 megapixel Powershot G9 now has a 3-inch Pure Color LCD II screen, 5x optical zoom, and optical image stabilization. Its DIGIC 4 image processor function gives the Powershot G9 advanced face detection technology, advanced motion technology, face-detection self-timer, Servo Auto Focus and an Intelligent Contrast Correction function.

Canon unveils the PowerShot SD990 IS, PowerShot SD880 IS Digital ELPH cameras

Canon unveiled two camera models as additions to its Digital ELPH camera series, the PowerShot SD990 IS and SD880 IS. Boasting advanced features such as optical image stabilization and DIGIC 4 image processor, both cameras are geared for photo enthusiasts looking for a digital snapper that combines functionality and style.

The PowerShot SD990 IS packs a 14.7 megapixel resolution, 3.7x optical zoom with optical image stabilization and Canon’s latest Quick Shot Mode touting a faster shutter speed. In addition, this digital snapper also features Canon’s proprietary DIGIC 4 image processing technology which enables the camera to have an advanced face detection and advanced motion detection technology, face-detection self-timer, Servo AF, the Intelligent Contrast Correction feature and a 3-inch Pure Color LCD II. The SD990 IS will be available in black or silver design in an ultra-compact form factor. In addition the, Canon is also releasing a red limited edition of the SD990 IS in commemoration of the 100 millionth PowerShot camera manufactured by Canon.

Panasonic tries to redefine digital cameras with the Lumix DMC-G1

In what could be a revolutionary move into the digital camera market, Panasonic just introduced what is said to be the world’s first Micro Four Thirds system camera – the Lumix DMC-G1. The Micro Four Thirds System is a new standard in digital camera lens whereby the internal mirror structure of digital single-lens reflex camera or DSLR were eliminated. In other words this system enables our digital camera to have interchangeable lens much like our DSLRs without needing to attach any lens adapter. Hence, the Lumix DMC-G1 is still a digital camera in form factor with the capability of a DSLR in terms of shooting range minus the bulky form factor.

Casio unveils the Exilim Zoom EX-Z300, EX-Z250, EX-Z85, EX-Z19c digital cameras

Casio will soon be showering us with four new models from its EXILIM Zoom digital camera series as they have announced the release of the Exilim Zoom EX-Z300, EX-Z250, EX-285 and EX-Z19c. Casio is claiming that all four models are high-profile digital cameras and as such come with high-resolution CCD. True enough, the EX-Z300 comes with a 10.1-megapixel CCD sensor, while the other three all has 9.1-megapixel CCD sensors.

But aside from the cameras resolution, all four EXILIM models also boast of decent features that could possible convince you to buy anyone of them. For instance, both the EX-Z300 and EX-Z250 features Casio’s EXILIM Engine 3.0 which according to Casio produces beautiful image quality even when capturing night scenes. A notable feature of the EXILIM Engine 3.0 is the Makeup function where users can adjust various settings to enhance the subject’s face even before the users press on the shutter buttons. Other features of these two cameras include a 3-inch LCD screen, HD movie capture and playback and a 29mm wide angle lens with 4x optical zoom.
