Verizon’s unlimited prepaid plan comes to all markets this Thursday

In response to a growing competitive prepaid market, Verizon has decided to expand its prepaid Unleashed plan to all markets in the United States. Unleashed is a plan that gives customers unlimited talk, text and web for only $50 a month. The Wall Street Journal reports the plan will be available on Thursday, September 15 from Best Buy, Target, Walmart and Verizon retail locations.

Virgin Mobile announces new $20 per month mobile broadband plan

Virgin Mobile announced today a new addition to its mobile broadband offerings. Customers can now select a new prepaid plan for $20 a month. For that price, customers will get 500MB of data usage that will last a full month. Virgin Mobile will still offer a $10 plan worth 100MB for 10 days and a $50 monthly plan with unlimited 3G data speeds up to 2.5GB.

Boost Mobile has three new iDEN phones

Boost Mobile announced three new phones that it will add to its iDEN (Integrated Digital Enhanced Network) lineup. The Motorola Clutch +i475 (pictured), Motorola Theory and the Motorola i412 will all ship out this year at different times. All three phones can be used in conjunction with Boost Mobile’s $50 Monthly Unlimited with Shrinkage plan for $50 a month.

Switching to T-Mobile will get you a $125 gift card

T-Mobile is going to great lengths to get customers back. Even though it’s in the middle of a merger with AT&T, T-Mobile USA is going to keep slamming the competition with various advertisements while trying to make its network more appealing. In the past week we’ve seen phone discounts, free Wi-Fi calling, prepaid plan upgrades and other enhanced features coming from T-Mobile. That probably won’t be enough to convince some to make the switch, so T-Mobile is going to line some pockets to sweeten the deal.

T-Mobile loses contract customers, gains plenty of prepaid customers

T-Mobile USA released its first quarter 2011 results today. T-Mobile is still in fourth place behind Verizon, Sprint and AT&T, but could shoot straight to the top if its merger with AT&T is approved. Deutsche Telekom CEO Rene’ Obermann said in a press release that until that deal is complete, T-Mobile USA will continue to “compete aggressively” in the United States. It’s going to need that fire because T-Mobile USA is losing its contract customers.

T-Mobile making changes to prepaid plans on May 22

Usually when we hear a carrier planning to change its current plans, good news doesn’t follow. Today is an exception. T-Mobile is going to alter its $50 and $70 prepaid monthly plans for talk, text and web access on May 22. Customers associated with these plans are getting a bit of an upgrade and the prices will remain the same.

Verizon’s new prepaid plans leaked out before today, but the official unveiling is here. Unleashed is the name of Verizon’s new service for customers looking to go the prepaid route. For $50 a month, you can get unlimited minutes, texts and mobile web. There are also a few more options for those who would rather pay according to how much they use their phone instead of opting for an unlimited plan.
