Republic Wireless phones start at $99 for a limited time

Republic Wireless has piqued the curiosity of mobile phone users. Republic Wireless abandons the way many carriers handle their services by cutting out things such as contracts, data limitations, voice minutes limitations and high monthly bills. It was previously revealed that Republic Wireless will offer real unlimited plans for $19 a month. Using this service requires a special phone, but even those won’t be expensive.

Best Buy $99 HTC Flyer was a mistake

Earlier today, we encouraged anyone who thinking about purchasing a tablet to head to Best Buy where the retailer was selling the HTC Flyer for $99. We thought it was a bit strange Best Buy would knock even more money off the price of the tablet even though it was just discounted to $299. Our skepticism has now been confirmed. It turns out Best Buy’s website accidently priced the Flyer a lot lower than it was supposed to. By 12:00pm Central time, the Flyer will be priced at $299 just as the retailer originally intended.

Kindle Fire is official for $199

Bloomberg spilled the beans a bit early in regards to the Kindle Fire. About a half hour before the Amazon.com press conference was to start, Bloomberg revealed the Kindle Fire will be sold for $199. We’re still waiting on a release date, but $199 is the golden price we expected Amazon to deliver.

T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II and HTC Amaze 4G available October 12

T-Mobile has officially revealed the release date and pricing for two of its upcoming 4G smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy S II and the HTC Amaze will be in stores on October 12, 2011. Online customers will be able to order the phones a couple days earlier on October 10. The elephant in the room regarding these phones are their prices. The HTC Amaze will cost $259.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate, and the Galaxy S II will be $229.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate. As usual, a two-year contract is required.

Xperia Play 4G will only cost $50 on AT&T

Last week, AT&T announced one device that was far too expensive. This week, AT&T has done the complete opposite. The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play 4G will be coming to the carrier on September 18 for only $50 on a two-year contract. $50 will cover the cost of the phone and a couple accessories.

Sprint’s early termination fee is going way up

If you’re thinking about joining up with Sprint, you better be sure you’re willing to stick with the contract. An internal Sprint document has been leaked that states the fee for early terminations is going up on September 9. It’s not a modest increase either.

Rumor: Amazon tablet will be significantly less than $500

A source for the New York Post claims to have knowledge on how much Amazon will charge for its upcoming tablet. Amazon hasn’t so much as announced the product, but leaked information has been surfacing for several weeks. According to the source, Amazon’s tablet will undercut the cheapest iPad’s $499 price by hundred of dollars.
