U.S. Cellular reported a pretty good second quarter. The carrier saw its service revenues increase to $1.002 billion which is 3% more than last year. Its net income was $73.9 million which is up from $40.8 million a year ago. U.S. Cellular has achieved these levels even though it lost subscribers.

For the first time in Microsoft’s history, the software company has reported a year-over-year decline in its sales for fiscal year 2009 (FY2009).
