Vita price drop

The PlayStation Vita debuted with much fanfare and good sales, but the party didn’t last long. The second week of Vita sales in Japan dropped sharply. Amazon brought in the most online Black Friday customers, consumers spending increases

The bad U.S. economy didn’t stop consumers from emptying their wallets on Black Friday. comScore reports Black Friday online spending in 2011 increased 26 percent from $648 million last year, to $816 million. Amazon uses augmented reality to snatch sales from physical stores

Amazon just won’t stop picking on physical stores. The rise in Kindle books did its fair share of damage at bookstores (Borders for example), and its prices are starting to rival that of department stores. This is especially true if you’re an Amazon Prime member and get free two-day shipping. Today, a new Amazon-powered app called Flow was released in the Apple App Store. Think of it as your guide to finding a better deal when you’re shopping this holiday season and beyond.

Radio Shack wants your various Kindle pre-orders

Amazon’s upcoming Kindle Touch and Kindle Fire are going to be available for pre-order starting tomorrow at Radio Shack. The Kindle Fire and Kindle Touch are bound to be top-sellers, so this is an opportunity to claim one for yourself before the holiday crowds snatch them all away. The pre-order window will remain open until November 10.

HTC Flyer getting $200 discount from Best Buy

Maybe it’s just me, but when the HTC Flyer was released, I thought it was too expensive for what it offered. The Flyer is a 7-inch Android 2.3 tablet with 16GB of internal memory. The unique aspect of the Flyer was its Scribe Pen that didn’t even come with the tablet at first. The Flyer originally launched for $499, but it has clearly become less desirable over time. That’s why Best Buy is permanently discounting the HTC Flyer to $299 starting October 1.

Best Buy starts discounting the BlackBerry PlayBook

RIM may not be ready to permanently decrease the retail price of the BlackBerry PlayBook, but it has committed itself to offering special discounts that will last through the holiday season. We’ve started to see at least one store in the United States discount the PlayBook, and now Best Buy has started cutting prices. You can now get a 16GB BlackBerry PlayBook for $299.99 from Best Buy’s website. That’s a discount of $200.

Staples will start selling $79 Kindle on October 8

Amazon has started shipping the new keyboard-less Kindle as of yesterday, but it’s only a matter of time before retail stores will start stocking them as well. We’ve received word that Staples will have the $79 Kindle in stock starting on October 8. Keep in mind this is the ad-supported Kindle and not the more expensive $109 model.

Retailers will heavily discount HP TouchPad August 20

Since HP is not going to be creating webOS devices anymore, the HP TouchPad is the first and last tablet the company will release. HP also hasn’t decided what it’s going to do with webOS, so nobody is all that optimistic about its future. One thing is for sure, retailers are not going to want the TouchPad crowding its show floor and warehouse space. Massive discounts are happening right now.

Best Buy giving away Galaxy Tab 10.1 with select HDTVs

Best Buy is gearing up to start a new promotion next week involving the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. From August 21 to August 27, the retailer will give away the 16GB Galaxy Tab 10.1 with every purchase of a couple Samsung HDTVs. Those televisions also happen to be quite expensive.
