Sony S1 tablet less than a month away from release
Sony hasn’t been given the satisfaction of announcing the release date for its S1 tablet. Engadget has learned the tablet will be officially called the Sony Tablet S and may be priced at $599. The Sony Tablet S is expected to arrive in stores during the first couple weeks of September. A solid release date is still unknown.
Sony releases short video of S1 and S2 tablets
Sony has started marketing its upcoming S1 and S2 tablets through a series of short videos. The first video is entitled “The First Impression” and it is the first of five videos that make up a story called “Two will”. It doesn’t give us any real details about either tablet, but at least the promo is interesting to watch.

Sony confirms Honeycomb tablet for 2011
Sony CEO Howard Stringer has confirmed to Japanese newspaper Nikkei that the company will release a Honeycomb tablet this year. Sony’s CEO said the tablet will be available in the United States by the end of the summer. Stringer may have spoken prematurely because Sony followed up by saying the tablet will be released before the end of 2011. Regardless of whose time frame is more accurate, the Sony tablet is real.
