In 2009 Samsung will hope to introduce a new category of televisions: LED. The industry has gone from old fashion CRTs, to flat screen (first with Plasma), and the current leader is LCD. Not resting on their laurels Samsung is introducing a new line of LED TVs (not to be confused with OLED – Sony’s focus). I have to say that this displays look great! The colors are vivid, the brightness is superior, and the aesthetic design is gorgeous.

Besides TV’s Samsung was showing off their new Blu-ray players, Blu-ray home theater sound bar, and the first 64GB SSD camcorder.

How Samsung can fit all of their announcements into a 45 minutes press conference is amazing. If this is like previous years Samsung will be announcing new products across all categories: HDTVs, phones, cameras, camcorders, monitors, printers, portable audio, and maybe even some portable devices/netbooks to replace the Q1 line (maybe the rumored NC20). With the popularity of video uploading sites such as YouTube, it is not surprising that camcorder manufacturers has been constantly ensuring that they offer something new for the consumers. This might be what Samsung had in mind when it launched its new compact digital camcorder, the SC-MX20.

The SC-MX20 is a feature-packed camcorder boasting a 680K pixel CCD sensor which gives out a 720 x 480 resolution, a Schneider lens with 34x optical zoom and noise reduction technology, and Samsung’s Advanced Image Stabilization technology, a 2.7-inch LCD, memory card slot for SD/SDHC, USB 2.0, 3-hours of battery life, aspect ratio 4:3 & 16:9, innovative swivel grip.
