Google is going to make searches more secure

Google is making an effort to better secure the search activity of its users that are signed in to their respective accounts. This is especially important since we now have the option to +1 sites on the search results page. Features such as this makes regular searches a more personalized experience, and no one would be comfortable with a third party sneaking peeks at their Google searches. Over the next few weeks, Google will start to automatically encrypt searches.

Google gets a +1 button

Google is experimenting with a new feature it’s calling +1. If you’re familiar with Facebook likes, you’ll feel right at home with +1. Google’s purpose for this feature is to help searchers find the best pages based on recommendations. Whenever you click the +1 button in a search result, Google will add it to a global list of other +1 recommendations. +1 also shows you site recommendations from your personal contacts that are connected to you through Google.

Search market: Google gains, Bing & Yahoo! tank says Hitwise

According to a Hitwise survey of 10 million users, Google’s share of the search market gained 1% in May, month over month.
