Sharp discontinues two Galapagos tablet models
You probably haven’t heard too much about the Sharp Galapagos media tablets if you live outside of Japan. The story behind the two models that are being discontinued started around a year ago when Sharp first announced them. The Galapagos tablets were positioned as e-book readers that were able to take advantage of Sharp’s e-bookstore, but they could also do more tablet-centric tasks such as web browsing and run applications. It turns out the 5.5 and 10.8-inch models of the Galapagos weren’t selling well, and Sharp has decided to axe them.
