AT&T gives US text addicts four new QWERTY phones
According to a recent study conducted by Nielsen, cell phone users are becoming more active in using their mobile phones for texting rather than calling. And in AT&&’s second quarter earnings report, it was found out that the volumes of text messaging done by its subscribers have tripled from the same period in 2007.
Seeing an opportunity, AT&T has just added four text-friendly mobile phones which are all equipped with a full-QWERTY keypad. These mobile phones are, the Pantech Matrix, the Pantech Slate, the Samsung Propel and AT&T’s own Quickfire mobile handset. AT&T said that all four mobile phones’ QWERTY keypads allow for easy sending of text messages, MMS for both picture and video, and even instant messages.

What’s hot about the new Samsung I870
The uber-slick Samsung I870 has been seen in leaked images and now we get some spec info. What is hot about this phone? Plenty. What is not? This sweet phone looks to be a winner in Europe and Asia potentially but not the US. Awww.
Indeed, the details revealed by Boy Genius show a tri band GMS phone, omitting the 850 GSM and UMTS needed for US connectivity. So we will miss out. The specs found by BGR are:

LG runs out of room, puts dial on KF700 backside
LG put a shortcut dial on the backside of their new KF700. In addition to its swanky touchscreen and slide out number pad, LG says it’s users needed another way to interact with the phone. The idea is, this phone has so many features, that easy navigation is key.
