T-Mobile has a decent Q3, Q4 is going to be a different story

T-Mobile reported its financial situation for the third quarter of 2011 today. All in all, T-Mobile did pretty good. In fact, T-Mobile saw its service revenues increase by one percent to $4.67 billion. That’s better than last quarter, but less than a percent worse than Q3 2011. On the customer side of things, T-Mobile gained 126,000 customers. Again, this was better than last quarter, but worse than Q3 2010. T-Mobile is also seeing continued growth in smartphone purchases with 10.1 million people using its 3G and 4G networks. Things are quite sunny right now, but it will likely go downhill in Q4 thanks to the iPhone 4S.
