T-Mobile has begun sending out BlackBerry Bold 2 launch invitations

Assuming we can believe this latest invitation, then it looks like the BlackBerry Bold 2 will have an official unveiling on T-Mobile on November 5. According to the recently leaked “Witness the unveiling…” invitation, T-Mobile will be holding the “T-Mobile Go Bolder Event” in New York on November 5. Additionally, there is also a similar but earlier event rumored to be taking place in LA on November 3. This of course falls in nicely with a rumored launch date of November 11.

BlackBerry Bold bits: The Bold 2 coming October 21 and a new white Bold

CTIA seems to have been good for BlackBerry news, or more specifically BlackBerry Bold news. Internal AT&T system now showing the BlackBerry Bold in white

Assuming we can believe these recent images, then it looks like AT&T will soon have the BlackBerry Bold 9000 available in white. Nothing really to this story just yet, however there is, for better or worse a white BlackBerry Bold 9000 being listed. Personally, I like white phones and I like a good BlackBerry, but more »

Cucku: Social Backup – Are they serious?

I’m sorry, but I just wonder, is this entire thing just someone’s idea of “Just how far can we take this and people will think we’re serious?” I mean, the name itself. Who came up with it? You have got to be kidding me.

Okay. For those who aren’t aware…Cucku is a “Social Backup Service” that runs on Windows machines. It was available to select beta users since February of this year, and its 1.20 version just became available for all to download yesterday. You want to make all your personal files oh so safe? Well then, all you have to do according to Cucku (oh, that just makes me roll my eyes each time I type it), is back up all of your data to your friend’s computer. Oh, and in return, they back up all their work onto yours. You are “back-up buddies.” Isn’t that special?

Gadgetell Peep Show: Kicker iK500 iPod Speaker System

While we are taking some time getting our full thoughts down, we wanted to show off the pics of the latest gadget to make its way into the Gadgetell headquarters. Its the Kicker iK500 iPod speaker system. While we have the iK500 which is made exclusively for the iPod, Kicker also has the zKick ZK500 for the Microsoft Zune.

Aside from the obvious difference that one is made for the Zune and the other for the iPod, they both offer the same features. The systems both ship with a remote control that offers a full range of options, and have two 5-inch woofers, two 3/4-inch tweeters, one 6-inch square reflex subwoofer that are powered by a 40-watt stereo amplifier. In addition they both have a 1/8-inch stereo aux-in jack and stereo RCA out. They both measure in at 8.5 x 19.2 x 8.4-inches and weigh 9.2-pounds.

The iK500 includes eight dock inserts that will allow for just about any iPod to fit snugly in place, and the ZK500 comes with three inserts to fit the various available Zune players. The iK500 and ZK500 both retail for $299.99 and are currently available. During our (so far brief) testing the system sounded great and worked well with a variety of iPods, to include the nano, Shuffle and even the iPhone, while in airplane mode. Be sure to check back for our full review and in the mean time enjoy the pics…

The CSN-7040, CIN-7000: Portable Navigation Devices with tactile feedback

Korea seems to be the launching pad for innovation when it comes to new technology and the world of portable navigational devices (PND’s) is currently madly spinning. Computer Telephone Technology (CTT-Net) is now ready to launch its two newest PND’s to a waiting world.

The CSN-7040 is the very first portable navigation device to incorporate Immersion’s TouchSense system, which enables tactile feedback on touch-screens. The CIN-7000 is a built-in car navigation system that also uses the TouchSense technology and improves general safety by reducing the “glance-time” while driving. Both navigation units have a 7-inch touch screen and a DMB receiver for satellite downloads.
