Hulu Face Match identifies the actor whose name you can’t remember
We’ve all been in a situation when we see an actor on a television show and can’t figure out for the life of us where we’ve seen them before. Other times we know what other roles that actor had, but can’t remember their name. Hulu has stepped in to help solve this little problem with a new feature called Face Match. Face Match is currently available for testing and works with five episodes of The Office, Lost, Modern Family, Wilfred and Glee.

DirecTV may lose over two dozen channels
DirectTV customers are finding themselves days way from potentially having 25 fewer channels than they do now. Bloomberg reports DirecTV may pull Fox-owned channels such as National Geographic and FX as early as the beginning of November. DirecTV and Fox has to reach an agreement on pricing or else those channels will disappear.
McDonald’s will serve up some television with your fries
McDonald’s will enhance the dining experience for millions of its customers by introducing its own video content on the McDonald’s Channel. The McDonald’s Channel will begin life in California and may branch out into other states if the venture proves to be successful. Maybe now you’ll skip the drive-through and step inside for some television entertainment instead.

A new Nielsen study has pointed out the obvious fact that people use their smartphones and tablets while watching television. I do it all the time and chances are you do too. However, Nielsen took the study a step further by finding out what owners of smartphones and tablets were doing while watching television. The results aren’t that surprising, but the accompanying statistics are.
Netflix has second thoughts, decides to kill Qwikster
It has been a wild year for Netflix. The company has been making some unpopular decisions lately and it has only served to hurt the company’s image. Not too long after implementing the price increase, Netflix announced it would be spinning off its DVD business into a completely separate companies. Qwikster was to take over the DVD operations and force customers to have two accounts, two bills, two queues and two rating systems. After listening to an overwhelming amount of customer dissatisfaction, Netflix has decided to keep the business intact and cancel its Qwikster plan.
Amazon Prime welcomes Fox shows to its lineup
Hot on the heels of the Netflix and DreamWorks licensing agreement comes news about a deal reached by Amazon and Fox. Amazon Prime customers will have the ability to watch Fox television programs and movies sometime this fall.
Discovery programs will remain on Netflix for two more years
Netflix hasn’t been the bearer of good news as of late. Netflix and Starz couldn’t reach an agreement to renew their content deal which will result in Starz leaving Netflix on February 28, 2012. Netflix also decided to spin off its DVD business into a separate company called Qwikster. Investors weren’t happy about this move and Netflix stock has been taking a beating. Maybe the company can bounce back now that Discovery Communications has signed a new two-year agreement with Netflix.
