The OGT Tablet is as mysterious as it is thin
Almost every hardware maker makes claims that their products will be the biggest and baddest around. They have to make these assertions because no one will buy the product if it’s described as mediocre and forgettable. This leads me to the OGT Tablet which is currently shrouded in mystery. Little is known about this device, but Android Central claims OGT Mobile is calling it the thinnest Android tablet ever created.
Gadgetell review: cases for folks that despise cases
When it comes to my phones, I rarely leave a case on for more than a week. I despise, and to a point, resent the added weight, thickness and altered feel of the case. Today, I’ll look at two solutions that make the Apple bumper look like the before shot on a weight loss programs more »
iPhone 6 concept shows much larger screen
It is a concept by an artist that is in no way (as far as we know) associated with Apple. This concept, shows us where Apple may be headed next, a bigger screen. As the phone with just one model (assuming Mr. White iPhone keeps standing us up), part of Androids attraction has to be more »
HP’s budget conscious Pavilion DM3
At $549, the Pavilion DM3 could easily be a bulky and unstylish machine, but it’s not. HP made a sub-$600 notebook under 1-inch thick and it weighs only 4.2 pounds. There are two processor options: the Intel Pentium SU4100 (1.30 GHz) and the AMD Athlon Neo X2 (1.60 GHz). The Intel version costs a little more »
Ultra-thin QWERTY phone announced by Pantech
They are going to sell bunches of these. Debuting as the world’s thinnest QWERTY phone, the new Pantech Slate is available now on AT&T. This phone is one of many AT&T is launching to address the heavy-messaging market segment. Phones like the Pantech Matrix (a take on the Duo without Windows Mobile), Samsung Propel and now the Slate, AT&T is covering the bases with a variety of styles to fit, well, your style.
The Slate’s claim to fame is its less than 1-centimeter thickness. That is super thin and AT&T claims it can fit into your skinny jeans; though, clearly, they’ve not tested my skinny jeans. Continued after the break.
World’s thinnest external hard drive: Buffalo’s Shinobi
Buffalo is set to introduce what they are claiming to be the world’s thinnest external hard drive. The official name of the product is the MiniStation Shinobi and it is just 5mm thick. While the device looks like a run-of-the mill flash drive, it actually houses a 1.8-inch hard drive. I got to handle one of these tiny drives and it is very light at 2-ounces.
Encased in a very cool-looking metallic black enclosure, Buffalo placed a tiny retractable USB connector in the side of the unit. The connector nests within the case when not in use; the drive does not have a mini-USB port. It will ship with an USB extension cable in case the built-in connector cannot reach your computer’s port. Buffalo will release two versions in October. There is a 30GB model for around $120 and a 60GB model for about $170. Both come with back up software by Memeo. More pictures after the break.
