T-Mobile introduced a Sony Ericsson TM506 with red accents; it is available starting today. The TM506 is mostly a glossy black with accent colors. Previously, you could pick up the phone in chrome, green, or amber.

This is a pretty basic flip phone with a 2.0MP camera, supports e-mail and IM, maps, video and music player with a 2.2-inch screen. The TM506′s best feature may be its size since it is about the size of a business card when closed. It costs $49.99 with the usual two year service agreement.

T-Mobile has just officially announced the 3G-capable Sony Ericsson TM506. Overall its a nice looking handset with a slim compact design, however it has one important item to point out, this is T-Mobile’s first HSDPA handset.

The Sony Ericsson TM506 has a clamshell design and features built-in GPS with TeleNav support, a Memory Stick Micro (M2) card slot, a 2-megapixel camera and stereo Bluetooth. In addition the handset also features both an internal display along with an external display that shows the time as well as caller ID.

T-Mobile customers will have to wait just a little longer to grab one of their own however, according to the press release it will be available in early-September at “select T-Mobile retail stores and online.” Still unknown is just how much the TM506 will set you back. Even after all the Sony Ericsson handsets that were recently launched, they still have some in the works. Thanks to a recent FCC listing, we now have at least some of the details on a new clamshell style 3G-capable handset that will be heading to T-Mobile, the TM506.

Typical with the FCC leaks, all of the details have not been given, in this case it was notably the camera specs that were left to remain a mystery, but aside from that we are quite pleased with what was revealed.

The TM506 offers tri-band GSM (850/1800/1900MHz) support as well as being capable of taking advantage of T-Mobile’s AWS (1700MHz) 3G network. Other features include a built-in GPS receiver, Bluetooth, a Memory Stick Micro (M2) card slot and an (albeit small) external display.

While the pricing and availability have not been released it is expected to be available shortly. Lets just hope they release it in a few more color varieties aside from the pictured green, because that is sure to be a color that is either loved or hated.
