Canon unleashes a slew of new cameras, printers
Canon, not to be outdone by itself in announcing the VIXIA HF S11, is also announcing a number of new digital cameras and printers. The line-up includes six new digital cameras, including a new flagship PowerShot G-series, and four new printers, including two All-In-Ones with built-in Wi-Fi. It’s a barrage of products that can make it a bit hard to digest at first, with every product coming to market within the next two months.
Touch screens hit desk phones: the snom 870
One of the features that makes the iPhone easy to use is the ability to create conference calls or place calls on hold or mute without needing to know any special key codes. All you have to do is touch the big button on the touch screen and you’re all set. Today, snom introduced a new VoIP desk phone, the snom 870, which incorporates a touch screen. The screen is 4×3 inches in size and is primarily aimed for businesses, however I can see something like this easily finding its way into the home.

Video: Intel shows off Minority Report-like glass touch screen at CES
Ever since the movie Minority Report came out in 2002, large touch screens have been compared to the infamous one in the movie. This year at CES, Intel showed off a rough prototype touch screen that involved projecting an image from the rear onto a piece of glass. We don’t have many details other than what we saw with our own eyes, but it seemed that the piece of glass was rigged with some capacitive sensors between two pieces of glass, and it was powered by Intel’s new Core i7 chip.
