Twinhead intro’s the 8-inch display ultra-portable C8

The ultra-portable market has been very popular lately, with most newly released models offering at least some comparison to the Eee PC and some even with the Everex Cloudbook.

The Twinhead C8 features a pearl white outer shell and features and 8-inch display with a nice 1024 x 600 resolution, which can make a big difference when compared to a 7-inch display with an 800 x 480 resolution. Aside from the display the C8 is powered by an AMD LC-800 processor with 1GB of RAM and features a 1.8-inch 20GB hard drive, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, Ethernet, two USB ports, one VGA out and a 4-in1 card reader.

Intel’s 2go PC; formerly know as the Netbook

It was just a few weeks back that we first saw those cell phone style pics show up, only to quickly be followed up with a much cleaner looking set, based on that it seemed only a matter of time before more information came out. This time its in the form of a spec sheet and a few press style pics. The Intel Netbook 2go PC will be manufactured by Computer Technology Link (CTI) and seems to be aimed primarily at the education and classroom market although with the featured specs it should hold its own against with the recent ultra-portable craze.

The 2go PC will be running on an Intel Celeron M processor with the 915GMS chipset and come with Windows XP or Linux. The 2go PC will feature a 9-inch display with an 800 x 480 resolution, 512MB of RAM standard with support up to 1GB, a 4200 RPM 40GB hard drive, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, SD/MMC card reader and a built-in webcam.

Although an official price and release date has not yet been announced, rumor has it that it should be available in less than 60 days and retailing for around $400. Keep reading for a few more pics of the 2go PC…

Circuit City, CompUSA now offering the Everex Cloudbook

It seems the Cloudbook has expanded its availability, both Circuit City and “The All-New” CompUSA are now offering the Everex branded UMPC. Perhaps this will make the Cloudbook seem a little more like a ‘real’ computer if its not being purchased from Wal-Mart. As of now the better deal seems to be at Circuit City more »

The Netbook also weighs less than three-pounds and has a carrying handle built-in. Rumor has it that the Netbook will be landing in the US around June and be in the ballpark of $400.
